Cookie Policy

Which cookies we use, what they are for, and how you manage them yourself.

Last updated: 19 June 2026

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device to remember information — for example your language setting or your consent choices. Similar technologies (local storage, pixel tags) are covered by the same rules.

Which cookies do we use?

1. Necessary cookies (always on)

These are needed for the site to work. No consent is required (Irish ePrivacy Regulations, S.I. 336/2011).

  • cookie_consent — stores your cookie choices. Expires after 12 months.
  • wp_session — technical WordPress session. Expires when the browser closes.

2. Analytics cookies (consent required)

We use Google Analytics to keep anonymised statistics on how the site is used. The tool is configured so IP addresses are anonymised immediately.

  • _ga, _gid, _gat — Google Analytics. Expire after 2 years / 24 hours / 1 minute.

3. Advertising cookies (consent required)

For ads through Google AdSense and partners. These cookies are only set if you accept personalised ads.

  • __gads, __gpi, IDE, NID — Google's ad network. Expire after 13 months or sooner.

How do you manage your consent?

On your first visit the cookie banner offers a choice: accept necessary only, or all. You can change your setting at any time by withdrawing or giving your consent again on this site.

You can also manage cookies manually through your browser settings — in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge you will find this under "Privacy and security".

Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by external providers (Google). We do not have full control over these. You can find more in their own privacy policies:

Changes

We may update this cookie policy if we change our configuration or if the law changes. The latest version is always on this page.
