1. Data controller

This website (https://www.irishsheets.com/) is operated by IrishSheets. We respect your privacy and handle your personal data carefully, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Regulation (EU) 2016/679) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What data do we collect?

We collect as little personal data as possible. Specifically:

  • Technical data — IP address (anonymised), browser type, operating system, referring website, language setting. This data is needed for the site to run securely and reliably.
  • Usage statistics — pages visited, click behaviour and templates downloaded. We collect this only with your consent through the cookie banner.
  • Contact details — when you write to us: your email address and the content of your message.

We do not require any registration, newsletter sign-up or payment details to download templates.

3. What do we use the data for? (legal basis)

  • To protect the site against misuse (technical data, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest).
  • To understand which templates are used most so we can improve our collection (analytics cookies, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR — consent).
  • To answer your contact enquiry (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • To show ads through ad networks (only after explicit consent).

4. Who do we share data with?

We do not sell your data. We only share it with:

  • Hosting provider — to run the website (a data processing agreement is in place under Art. 28 GDPR).
  • Google Analytics — with anonymised IP, only after consent through the cookie banner.
  • Ad network (Google AdSense) — only if you accept personalised ads. Google AdSense may set cookies to serve and measure ads.

5. How long do we keep data?

  • Access logs: a maximum of 6 months.
  • Statistics (anonymised): a maximum of 26 months.
  • Emails: no longer than 24 months after the last reply.

6. Your rights under the GDPR

  • Right of access — find out what data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR).
  • Right to rectification — have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR).
  • Right to erasure — have your data deleted (Art. 17 GDPR).
  • Right to restriction — have processing restricted (Art. 18 GDPR).
  • Right to data portability — receive your data in a common format (Art. 20 GDPR).
  • Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR).
  • Withdrawal of consent — for cookies and ads through the cookie settings on this site.

Email [email protected] to exercise any of these rights. We reply within 30 days (Art. 12(3) GDPR).

7. Right to complain

Not happy with how your data is handled? You can complain at any time to the supervisory authority — in Ireland this is the Data Protection Commission (DPC), www.dataprotection.ie.

8. Data breaches

If, despite our security measures, a personal data breach occurs, we report it within 72 hours to the supervisory authority (Art. 33 GDPR) and, where required, to those affected (Art. 34 GDPR).

9. Changes

We may update this policy if our working methods or the law change. The current version is always on this page.
